Department of Human Resources

Before Employment Can Be Considered

It is the applicant’s responsibility to review the current job vacancies, submit a completed application (including supporting documentation), and apply for each vacancy desired.

Prior to the position of interest closing, applicants must complete the following steps in order to be considered eligible for job vacancies:

  1. Submit an online application listing three (3) professional references. Although written references are not required to complete an application, written references are evaluated as part of the screening process for instructional and/or administrative applicants to determine eligibility for interview.

  2. Attach verification of high school diploma, GED, college degree, or copy of official transcripts reflecting degree conferral information (web-portal transcripts are not acceptable) from an acceptable accredited institution.

  3. Applicants claiming Veteran's Preference must provide a copy of a legible DD-214 or other supporting documentation to verify eligibility.

  4. Instructional and/or administrative applicants may attach FLDOE Statement of Eligibility and/or Valid Florida Educator's Certificate.

  5. Administrative applicants are required to complete the Leadership Standards and Self-Assessment documents prior to the job closing date. Electronic forms will be attached to employment application upon submission of application. Upon completion of application and supporting documentation is received by Human Resources, eligible applicants will be required to complete the Targeted Selection Interview (TSI) process as outlined below:

    1. TSI may be conducted via a face-to-face model or via a virtual platform (eg. Google Meet, Zoom, etc..) as determined by the district; applicants must be available to attend in order to continue with the interview process.

    2. Passing scores remain valid for five (5) years. If the applicant has successfully completed TSI in a Florida district within the past five (5) years, and can provide documentation, he/she will not be required to repeat the process.

    3. The TSI process differs for the various types of administrative positions; applicant should inquire if TSI is required for the position of interest. Select the specific Vacancy Desired for each vacancy of interest. Also, click the Finish and Submit button on the application to complete the application process.

  6. Non-instructional applicants may be required to take and pass additional tests based on the job requirements. Submit a completed application for screening by Human Resources for each vacancy of interest. If testing is required for the position of interest, the applicant will receive an email with instructions to schedule the appropriate skills test. All testing is conducted at an off-site testing center. All testing must be completed and passed prior to the job closing date in order to be considered eligible for interview.

  7. Hiring administrators review the completed applications and select candidates for interview based on qualifications and requirements for the position. All candidates selected for interview will be contacted directly by the hiring school/department. Applicants should ensure their application reflects your most current contact information.

  8. Upon offer and acceptance of employment, new hire onboarding must be scheduled at which time fees for drug testing, fingerprinting, and certification (instructional, administrative, substitute, and coaching) will be incurred by the new hire.
