At last night's School Board Meeting, Mrs. Cornell and Mrs. Culverhouse had the opportunity to recognize Jaxson Getz for receiving a perfect score on the 3rd Grade FAST Math Assessment in May. Congratulations, Jaxson. We are so proud of you!

Wear your pajamas to school.

Avon Elementary would like to thank Avon Park VFW Post 9853 Auxiliary for donating several bags of school supplies for our students. They do this each year and we are grateful for their continued support! Thank you!

Hat's on for Kids. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Avon Elementary is raising awareness for kids fighting cancer! Join us for Hat Day September 6 and 27. Bring $1 and wear your favorite hat. All proceeds go to St. Judes Children's Hospital.

Avon Elementary PBIS Sno Cones! To raise money for our behavior incentives, we will be selling Sno Cones for $2. October 11. Money is due 10/10 by 12pm noon. Future dates will be : November 15 December 163 January 17 February 21 March 21 April 11 May 16

Dear Parents and Guardians of Highlands County bus riders: Highlands County school buses are now equipped with GPS technology that may benefit your household, as your student(s) use their Bus Pass/Student ID Card/Student ID number to sign on and off the bus as they board and exit the bus. The WheresTheBusTM parent app lets you know precisely when your child’s bus will arrive at your bus stop. This app is free to all Highlands County bus-riding households. The system also helps Transportation efficiently manage our bus fleet routes. To use the WheresTheBusTM app, download the WheresTheBusTM app from the App Store (iOS / Apple) or Google Play Store (Android). You will be prompted to create an account. Select Highlands County from the dropdown menu and provide your student’s information. Once your student’s information is verified, you will create an account and will be able to log in and access the app. We encourage you to try this exciting new technology, as we continually strive to provide you with the best possible transportation service.

Thank you to the donor who came in over the summer and donated 2 $100 Gift cards to our school. The gift cards were given to two new teachers to help them start out the school year. Ms. Barnhart and Ms. Desai were happy to be able to purchase some useful supplies for their classrooms.

You will have a chance to meet teachers, visit classrooms, ask questions, free vision screenings, speak to transportation, deliver supplies to classroom, purchase an AES shirt, learn more about SAC and PTO. Our yearbooks are $25 and packed FULL of pictures. Here are a few sneak peeks of what's inside..... *Yearbooks will be delivered sometime in May. Once they are delivered we will notify parents, and send them home with students who have purchased a copy.

Enter the required information for that item, for example, student name or the amount you wish to pay. Currently, only daycare payments are available online.
