Good morning! Later today, we're transitioning the credit card payment link on the school website to RevTrak. RevTrak is a trusted vendor serving over 1200 school districts across the USA! This move comes with numerous benefits for you and the district. Upon your first login, you'll be prompted to create an account. This account allows you to securely save your preferred credit/debit card or checking account number. Additionally, e-checks incur a slightly smaller convenience fee. Within your parent account, you'll have visibility into all your transactions and the flexibility to pay for multiple items simultaneously, such as purchasing a t-shirt and daycare tuition. We understand that the initial payment process may involve a few questions, similar to any online store. However, rest assured that subsequent transactions will be seamless and efficient. We appreciate your cooperation in making this transition smooth and convenient for everyone involved. Thanks, Lake Placid Elementary

Tis the season to help one another! This week we would like for all students to participate in a school wide event called "Acts of Service." Every day we will challenge our students to participate in community service opportunities that are different for each day. Theses opportunities are fun ways to develop character and instill leadership for our students during the holiday season. The themes are as follows: * 11/27, Monday: students draw a picture/make a card for an elderly person; we will eventually take these to local rehabilitation and assisted living places. * 11/28, Tuesday: students write an appreciation note to someone in the students' family or someone who works at LPE. * 11/29, Wednesday: students donate books they own at school or at home; LPE will potentially have a parent night for children to select one of these donated books. * 11/30, Thursday: students make a treat for our school bus drivers; these treats can be cookies, candy, and snacks with a note of encouragement. * 12/1, Friday: students choose a random act of kindness... they can get creative with this!

Curriculum and Pizza night, November 9th from 5:30-6:30 pm.
Just after 9:00 am this morning at Lake Placid High School, a student reported potentially seeing another student in possession of a weapon. The school was placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure, and law enforcement responded immediately. Lake Placid Middle and Lake Placid Elementary were also placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure due to their proximity to LPHS. After a thorough investigation by the Highlands County Sheriffโ€™s Office, it was determined that this was not a credible threat. There was no student with a weapon, and there had never been any danger to students or staff. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. All potential threats against a school are immediately and thoroughly investigated, and we encourage students to always report anything they see or hear regarding a threat against the safety of others.
