Woodlawn families showed up BIG TIME for our Heartland Food Bank cereal drive! Thursday was our SOCK HOP Daddy Daughter Dance! Our cafeteria was transformed into a 50s juke joint and our Woodlawn ladies were treated to a night out with a special guy in their life. They danced the night away to 50s tunes with a little bit of popular requests, ya know like Golden, mixed in! Girls got 50s themed tattoos while dads had a chance to “record a note” for their girls all in the midst of enjoying a pizza meal. We had the opportunity to host Appetizers and Appreciation for our teachers, paraprofessionals, itinerant staff, and resource personnel who serve our self-contained ESE classrooms. Huge shout out to Dee’s place for providing such a wonderful spread. These staff members are often the unsung heroes serving selflessly, day in and day out, working with our precious children. It was fun getting to fill each other’s plates with positives, play a fun game, and hear heartfelt messages from some very thankful parents.
